Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to personal information you send through this website. I do not sell your information, use it for advertising or add you to a marketing list.
Who is responsible
Rodaidh Mackay, an independent music tutor and studio-service provider based in Edinburgh, is the data controller for enquiries made through this site. You can raise a privacy question or exercise your rights through the contact form.
Information collected
- Your name and email address
- Your enquiry type and location preference
- The message, links and any other information you choose to send
- Correspondence, quotes and booking details if the conversation continues
Why it is used
The information is used to respond, understand what you need, provide a quote or scheduling options, and manage any resulting lessons or studio project. The usual lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, and the legitimate interest of handling genuine business enquiries and keeping appropriate records. Information may also be retained where a legal or accounting obligation applies.
How long information is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only while the conversation and reasonable follow-up remain relevant, then deleted. If you become a student or client, relevant correspondence and records may be kept for the duration of the relationship and afterwards where needed for tax, accounting, contractual or legal purposes. Old information is reviewed and removed when it is no longer needed.
Children’s information
For students under 16, a parent or guardian should normally make the website enquiry and provide the contact details. The site is not intended to collect information directly from children without their parent or guardian’s involvement.
